About the Presentation
Legendary art dealer Tony Shafrazi returns to the art fair circuit at Independent 20th Century, marking his first participation in an art fair in over 12 years. A pivotal figure in reshaping contemporary art history, Shafrazi’s return offers a unique platform to bridge past influences with the present, spotlighting his ongoing commitment to expanding the boundaries of art.

Shafrazi will present new works by two artists with whom he shares deep ties: Zadik Zadikian, who will debut his large-scale installation Made in USA—a striking piece featuring 160 gold ingots stacked in a 4' x 4' x 9' column formation, echoing his work in Solid Gold at The Brooklyn Museum; and Brandon Deener, the Los Angeles-based artist known for his dynamic exploration of Black identity and Afrofuturism. Deener, who transitioned from music production to visual art, presents a multi-panel work at Independent that pays homage to Andy Warhol’s Campbell soup cans while honoring his mother and family life, blending pop art influences with deeply personal themes.
