About the Gallery
Silke Lindner opened its space in the fall of 2022 in TriBeCa, New York. The gallery currently represents six artists (Nina Hartmann, Sylvie Hayes-Wallace, Emma Kohlmann, Gozié Ojini, Lyric Shen and Amg Ziqi Zhang) and has debuted U.S. solo shows with Barbara WesoĊowska (London), Eva Gold (London), Tomás Díaz Cedeño (Mexico City) and Irina Lotarevich (Vienna).
About the Presentation
Silke Lindner will debut at Independent with a solo presentation featuring work by Nina Hartmann. Alongside a concurrent solo exhibition at the gallery in May 2026, Hartmann will present new sculptural wall works at Independent. Her multimedia practice explores the functionality and malleability of proof in a modern day information age. Light boxes, resin sculptures carry photographic information collected from a variety of sources including official government outlets, institutional archives and online forums. Through the use of AI and other methods of alteration, Hartmann manipulates the images she finds, questioning their legitimacy and challenging roles of authorship. Informed by an interest in mysticism, symbols, diagrams, and maps of peripheral belief systems, Hartmann develops her own symbolic language that breaks down hierarchies within systems of information.
