About the Gallery
Founded in Bologna in 2010 by Alessandro Pasotti and Fabrizio Padovani, P420 has always maintained a commitment to promoting creativity and pushing artistic boundaries. P420 has been instrumental in the rediscovery of artists such as Irma Blank, Laura Grisi, Ana Lupas, and Stephen Rosenthal, collaborating directly with the artists or, when necessary, with their heirs or the Estates representing them. Through exhibitions, off-site projects, fairs, and a strong online presence, the gallery also supports the evolving narratives of contemporary art, initiating and supporting the journey of many young emerging talents like Victor Fotso Nyie, Francis Offman, and Shafei Xia.

Shafei Xia’s presentation, Normal Days, contemplates the ordinary moments that unfold alongside history’s defining events. For the average person, even the turning points of history are often experienced as just another day. Through a series of paintings and sculptures, Xia captures these seemingly insignificant yet universal scenes, reflecting on the fragility and resilience of individual existence. As the great wheel of history turns relentlessly, individual destinies fade into the background, leaving us humble as ants, yearning for peace and stability
