About the Gallery
Lévy Gorvy Dayan is a collaborative international art venture. Founded by Dominique Lévy, Brett Gorvy, and Amalia Dayan, Lévy Gorvy Dayan is defined by its focal relationships with artists and their estates, representing and working with select luminaries in diverse ways while conceiving a nimble exhibition program that puts artistic and curatorial vision at the forefront. Lévy Gorvy Dayan specializes in placing primary and secondary market works through its private dealing practice that is rooted in the diverse knowledge of its team from early modern through contemporary art. Fueling Lévy Gorvy Dayan with their combined 90 years of experience and expertise, the three partners are coalescing their respective specialties from across 20th- and 21st-century art; their individual reputations as market- and tastemakers; and their separate histories as principals of renowned art galleries. Both global and local in practice and perspective, Lévy Gorvy Dayan has spaces in New York and London in addition to pop-up presentations and satellite teams stationed around the world.

About the Presentation
Lévy Gorvy Dayan will present work by Yves Klein in a solo presentation at Independent 20th Century. This presentation of works by the visionary French artist Yves Klein (1928–1962) will include paintings from his series Cosmogonies (1960–62) and the large-scale sculpture Pluie bleue (Blue Rain, conceived 1957). Together, the works on view will represent the significant inspiration Klein drew from the natural world and highlight his use of the elements of earth, water, and air in his practice. The Cosmogonie paintings capture impressions of nature, from the imprints of leaves and reeds to the atmospheric effects of wind and rain, while Pluie bleue manifests the natural phenomenon of rain, comprising twelve long lines of International Klein Blue (IKB) pigment to appear like falling water. At the core of Klein’s artistic philosophy was that he was not only creating works of art but also channeling experiences relating to fundamental aspects of being; “I want to create works of nature and spirit,” the artist declared.
