About the Gallery
Kendra Jayne Patrick is an art gallery operating between Switzerland and the USA. Its programming is focused on the 21st century avant-garde, specializing in sculpture, painting, digital, and photography from a post-conceptual and post-internet posture. The program operates from a brick-and-mortar location in Bern, Switzerland and maintains its original itinerant presence in New York City. Adventure, scholarship, and the pleasure of looking govern the gallery’s programming and ethos, and all are reflected in its fluid exhibition model and challenging art and artists.
About the Presentation
Kendra Jayne Patrick will present work by Antonio Darden in a solo presentation, marking Darden’s New York debut. Darden draws from motifs associated with Black oral and musical traditions. These works are marinated in the sublime vitality of the Black Church. Darden's comical, sincere presentation will pay homage to a few of its legendary singers, perhaps reminding us that despite the feeling that nothing sacred remains in American political culture, it is always possible to find one's own North Star.
