About the Gallery
Founded by Francesca Pia in 1990 in Bern, Galerie Francesca Pia is known for the discovery and promotion of emerging artists. After 16 years in Bern, the gallery relocated to a larger space in Zürich in 1997. Francesca Pia’s roster includes major international artists working in all media, including Wade Guyton, Mai-Thu Perret, Rochelle Feinstein, Hans-Peter Feldmann, Stefan Tcherepnin, and Elad Lassry, many of whom have held their European solo debut at the gallery. In 2012, the gallery expanded once again by relocating to Zürich’s Löwenbräu complex, a former brewery that has been transformed into one of the city’s most active gallery districts, where Galerie Francesca Pia continues to pursue an ambitious program of exhibitions.

In an unpretentious but intelligent way, Serralongue’s photographs strike a bargain between the assets of journalistic images and those of art, documentary, and deconstruction.
