About the Gallery
Edel Assanti works with interdisciplinary artists whose practice engage with realities - be they social, cultural or political - or the moment in which they live. Jeremy Epstein and Charlie Fellowes established Edel Assanti as a project space in London's Victoria in 2010. In 2012, the transition was made to a permanent gallery representing a small group of artists, the core of which remains with the gallery. Performance and site-specific installation were central facets of Edel Assanti's early identity, including performances by Martin Creed and Richard Mosse's monumental installation 'The Enclave', commissioned for the 55th Venice Biennale. In 2015, Edel Assanti moved to new premises in London's Fitzrovia. An events programme runs concurrent to the gallery's exhibitions, including talks, performances, screenings and live electronic music nights. Recently Edel Assanti began staging historical exhibitions, establishing thematic counter-positions to the existing programme.
