About the Gallery
As an art dealer Dutton has identified, championed and brought discoveries to the fore of the contemporary art world and sought aesthetic rigor, singularity, sincerity, depth and materiality. Dutton is known for dealing with an amalgam of contemporary artists and self-taught and visionary artists relegated to the outside of the contemporary art world since 2010.

About the Presentation
Dutton makes its Independent debut with a dual exhibition of Selby Warren and Rose deSmith Greenman.

An Australian bushman who spent his life in the small settlement of Trunkey Creek, Warren began making visual records of his life experiences in the 1960s, using found materials and brushes he made with his own hair. His paintings, anchored in rural scenes of itinerant labor and folklore, iconic Australian landmarks and political figures, quickly drew acclaim after they were discovered when he was 85 years old.

Out of nowhere, Greenman began creating art in her 70s over a seven-year period while struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. With intricate detail, she interpreted her home, garden, and family in Boston as well as making transformative works from her imagination out of saved scraps of paper from family members.
