Deli Gallery and Public will collaborate on a joint presentation of works by Amanda Baldwin and Ficus Interfaith.

About the Gallery
Deli Gallery is an independently operated gallery presenting upcoming and emerging artists in New York City. Deli is a community-oriented exhibition space seeking to support an artist regardless of their market value, academic background, exhibition history, race, sex, color or orientation.

About the presentation
Deli Gallery and first-time exhibitor Public will collaborate on a joint presentation of works by Amanda Baldwin and Ficus Interfaith. Baldwin’s landscapes are dislocated from reality in both their hyper-pigmented palette and precise construction of overlapping patterns and textures, which toys with our perception of pictorial depth. Following the legacy of artists like Ithell Colquhoun, Georgia O’Keefe, and Eileen Agar, the paintings invite the viewer to consider ecology, climate change, mathematics, and color theory. Ficus Interfaith is the collaborative sculptural practice of Ryan Bush and Raphael Martinez Cohen. Their research focuses on historical imagery, language, and symbolism that is ubiquitous to the point of being overlooked or misunderstood. Using terrazzo, a composite material consisting of leftover marble, glass, and other waste used to make decorative floors since antiquity, Ficus Interfaith reimagines how craft can enter our lives while embracing the spirit of reuse.
